The most common areas treated with facial implants are the chin (to correct a "weak" or retrusive chin), and the cheekbone (or the malar region) of the face. These implants are normally made of Silastic, a silicone rubber which is also used to contain both silicone and saline breast implants.
Facial implants are introduced through small and well-hidden incisions, and are normally simple procedures. However, with the growing popularity and advancements of fat transfer procedures, facial implants may be less popular in the future.
